GEOGRAPHY

Location and Area : Pynursla Community and Rural Development Block is located in the South Eastern Part of East Khasi Hills and it has an area of about 45,222 Sq Hectares

Boundary : Pynursla Community and Rural Development Block is surrounded by the following

    East : Amlarem C&RD Block, Jaintia Hills

    West : Shella-Bholaganj C&RD Block, East Khasi Hills and in the North Western part by Khadar Shnong Laitkroh C&RD Block.

    South : Bangladesh

    North : Khadar Shnong Laitkroh C&RD Block, and in the North Eastern Part by Mawkynrew C&RD Block.

Topography : Since the area is situated in the extreme parts of the state i.e border of Bangladesh, it has plenty of hills and rivers. Type of soil are Sandy Clay, Clay, Sandy Loam and Loam. These types of soils are suitable for plantation of crops like Arecanuts, Betel leaves, Oranges and Pineapple.

Total area under wasteland covers about 2879 Hectares.
